A Domestic Referral Agency refers Clients seeking housekeeping services to Independent Domestic Workers/Housekeeping Service Providers who are registered and under contract with the referral agency. Housekeeping Service Providers receive a 1099 at year end; the Housekeeping Service Providers are not employees of the referral agency. The Housekeeping Service Providers provide professional domestic services, as requested by the Client.
Clients can hire or engage screened Housekeeping Service Providers who will perform virtually any household task and work from their priority list, for an affordable cost. Housekeeping Service Providers can access Clients through the agency while enjoying the freedom of having their own business.
Dana’s is the largest, oldest and, we think, the most professional housekeeping referral agency in California. Dana’s has been matching Clients and Housekeeping Service Providers for over 40 years!

Dana’s office staff is available during normal business hours via telephone and email to answer your questions; you will not get voice mail or an automated ordering system! We match Clients and Housekeeping Service Providers: We listen to each individual Client’s needs and then make the appropriate referral using the list of services offered by Housekeeping Service Providers registered with our agency.

Your professional Housekeeping Service Provider will have the ability to assess and complete all of your requested household tasks or, if you prefer, your Housekeeping Service Provider will work from your prepared priority list. If your priorities shift from one service to the next, you may adjust your list of priorities by either discussing changes with your Housekeeping Service Provider or by providing an updated priority list, describing any changes in routine or special projects that you would like performed.

As a registry for Housekeeping Service Provider’s, Dana’s can assist in scheduling your service when you need it! The majority of client’s request their service to be scheduled during the week between the hours of 7am and 6pm; however, we have registered Housekeeping Service Provider’s available 7 days a week.

Communication is key to making a good match! If you are pleased with the first Housekeeping Service Provider referred to you, then at your option he or she can provide regular recurring services. We suggest that you schedule repeat service based on your favorite Housekeeping Service Provider’s schedule and availability.

Clients usually schedule service on a regular recurring basis; however, Housekeeping Service Providers are also available for one time cleanings. Simply call your local Dana’s office or click on Booking when you want to schedule a service.

We accept all major credit cards and Zelle for your convenience. Or, if you prefer you can pay your Housekeeping Service Provider cash or with a check at the time of your service. In accordance with California law, Client Fees collected by Dana’s are deposited into a Trust Account until the Housekeeping Service Provider is paid.

Please be considerate of your Housekeeping Service Provider. As Independent Housekeeping Service Providers, their time is their money. If you must postpone or cancel a scheduled service, please notify Dana’s or your Housekeeping Service Provider at least two (2) business days in advance.

If you are unable to give a two (2) business day notice (Mon-Fri), there will be a $45.00 charge.

California Required Disclosure: Dana’s is not the employer of the domestic worker it referred to you. The domestic worker may be your employee or an independent contractor depending on the relationship you have with him or her. If you direct and control the manner and means by which the domestic worker performs his or her work, you may have employer responsibilities, including employment taxes and workers compensation, under state and federal law. For additional information, contact your local Employment Development Department and the Internal Revenue Service.
If you believe something is missing from your home, please discuss this with your all members of your household to confirm the item is missing. Once you are convinced the item is missing, Dana’s management encourages you to notify your local police department to investigate the matter. Dana’s will cooperate with law enforcement in any investigation.

In regard to damage, referred Housekeeping Service Providers are independent and therefore responsible for damage. As with other workers in your home, your homeowner or renter’s insurance policy may provide you with coverage for theft or damage.
